This is work was made back in my studio in response to a car I saw abandoned on the Island. I was interested in the idea of how what we discard today becomes the archaeological finds of the future and I was particularly struck by the irony of this in an area known for its rich Bronze Age settlements. I liked the way the colours of the materials matched those of the natural landscape as it slowly deteriorated, It had started to assume a beauty all of its own. In my work I imagined how it might look in the feature as it gradually disappeared under the earth until it is found again.
